 How to Create an SMB-Based VM In windows 2012 Cluster  - Step by step with screenshots 

 

1. Click Tools in  Server Manager.
2. Click Hyper-V Manager.

 


3. On the Action menu click Connect to Server
4. In the Select Computer dialog box, select Another computer, type HV1, and then click OK
5. Highlight HV1 and click New in the Action

6. Click Virtual Machine.


7. Click Next.
8. In Name, type VM name, for example SMB-VM-1.
9. Check Store the virtual machine in a different location, and then in Location, type \\clusterfs\vmstore.

 

10. In Startup Memory, type 8, check Use Dynamic Memory for this virtual machine, and then click Next.
11. Click Next.

 

12. In the Configure Networking, select connection or keep not connected and  configure it later.

13. On Connect Virtual Hard Disk, click Next.
14. Click Finish.
