How to run Directory Services Repair mode - Step by step with screenshots 

 

In a case you would like to recover a DC running on Windows 2012 or 2012 R2, you may need to run Directory Services Repair Mode. To run Directory Services Repair Mode, you may have two options:

 

1. When the DC is rebooting, press F8 to get into Advanced Boot Options and select run Directory Services Repair Mode.

 

2. On the DC, go to PC Settings to select Recovery. After reboot, you should have Directory Services Repair Mode option.
