How to setup dual boot Vista and XP

To run dual boot Vista and XP in a computer, you may have many options:

  1. Install Vista on a computer running XP with two hard disks or two partitions. That should not be a problem and just install it in a new installation on different partition that is not XP running.
  2. Install Vista on a computer running XP with one hard disk or partition. In this case, you need disk partition utility to shrink the Windows XP partition on the hard disk and create enough space for an installation of Vista. Refer to Install Vista on XP computer using Gparted live CD utility.
  3. Install XP on a computer running Vista. You may use Vista disk partition utility or third part tool like Gparted ive CD. Refer to Install XP on Vista computer using Vista disk partition tool.
