How to create second Standard Switch in VMware 5  - Step by step with screenshots 

 

The client has one VMware 5 host and would like to create two VMs. One is in the LAN and second VM will be in their DMZ. Since both are physical network, they would lie to create another Standard switch. Here are how.

 

1. Go to Host>Configuration>Network, click Add Networking.


2. in Connection Type, check Create vSphere standard switch.  

3. In Port Group Properties, enter the network lable name.

4. Click Finish in Summary.

5. Now, you should have two vSwitches.

6. click Properties of the new crate vswitch.

  

7. Select the NIC you want to add to the vSwitch.

8. click finish in the Summary.

9. You should see the Network Adapter in the vSwitch.

10. The Network shows second Standard vSwitch with network conenction.
