How to add a storage in ESXi 5.5  - Step by step with screenshots 

 

1. Login vSphere client.

2. select the host and click configuration.

3. highlight Storage and then click Add Storage.


  

4. Select Storage Type.

 

5. Select a LUN to create a datastore or expand the current one.

 

6. Check VMFS-3  that can be accessed by for legacy hosts or select VMFS-5 to enable additional capabilities such as 2TB+support.

 

7. Select the Free space option.   

 

8. Enter the database name.

 

9. Specify the maximum file size and capacity of the database.

 

10. Finish the configuration.

 

11. Now, you should see the new created database.
