As the part of disaster recovery plan, many companies ship their backup to a offsite. The new version of Altaro Hyper-V Backup offers the ability to copy the VMs' backup to a remote location over the internet. With Altaro WAN Acceleration, the copy transfer speeds to offsite storage are drastically improved by replicating only changed blocks, compressing data transfers and applying various other mechanisms to ensure backups over networks with latency issues are completed as quickly as possible. Here is the how to run office Copy in Altaro Hyper-V Backup.

 

1. Setup Configuration Account for Offsite Copy.

3. Schedule to copy the backup to offsite location.

 

1. Setup Configuration Account for Offsite Copy.

1) With Altaro Hyper-V Backup open, click Altaro Backup Server under Management Tools.

2) Click Launch the "Altaro Backup Server" Management Console.


3) Connect to the Altaro backup server, local or remote.

4)  If it connects to a remote server, enter the server address and credentials. Note: ensure no firewall blocks port 35100.

5) In the Altaro Backup Server Dashboard, click Configure Account.  Add a new account and choose a storage area.

6) Save the configuration.
