How to setup default email address in Exchange  - Step by step with screenshots 

 

There are many ways to setup default email in Exchange 2007.

 

A. Using EMC.

1. Open Exchange Management Console.

2. Navigate to Recipient Configuration>Mailbox.

3. Right click on the mailbox you want to edit.

4. Click E-Mail Address tab.

5. Uncheck Automatically update e-mail address based on email address policy.

6. Highlight the email address you want to setup as default email.

7. Click Set as Reply,

 

B. ADSI Edit

1. Run ADSI Edit.

2. Navigate to DC=domainname,DC=com>CN=Users.

3. Right click on the user you want to modify, select Properties.

4. Find proxyAddresses and click Edit.

5. Change the email from smtp to up case SMTP. The email address with up case SMTYP will be default email address.
