How to Move Active Mailbox Database in Exchange 2010  - Step by step with screenshots 

 

In a case, you plan to shutdown an Exchange with mounted database, you may want to move the active mailbox database to another exchange server. Please follow these steps:

 

1. Open EMC.

2. Navigate to Microsoft Exchange On-Premises>Organization Configuration>Mailbox.

3. Right click on the mounted database and select Move Active Mailbox Database.


4. In the Active a database Copy, browse to the Exchange server that will host active mailbox database copy.  

5. Click Finish after the move completes.  

 

Or right click on the Database, select Active Database Copy.
