How to create volume for DPM on Drobo B1200i  - Step by step with screenshots 

 

To create a disk for Microsoft Data Protection Manager, you must create dynamic disk. In this example we will show you how to create a volume for DPM on Drobo B1200i.

 

1. Run Drobo Dashboard.

2.  Highlight the Drobo b1200i you want to cerate a volume.

3. Click Volume and then Add volume.


4. in the format type, you have 3 options: NTFS, Cluster (Multi Host)  and None. since this is for DPM storage pool, we select None.

5. In Volume Size, select size.  Note: you can create a volume  up to 16TB.

6. After Apply the settings, Drobo will assign iSCSI Target Name, Host name and IP. Now it is ready to create the disk on Windows and DPM.
