How to create and manage VPN in SonicWall - Step by step with screenshots

You may have two option to create VPN in SonicWall. One is How to setup WAN GroupVPN VPN in SonicWALL - Step by step with screenshots. You can also create the VPN in VPN>Settings by following these steps.

1. After login SonicWall, navigate to VPN>Settings.

2. Click Edit icon.

3. In the General, By default the Authentication Method is IKE using Preshared Secret and name is WAN GroupVPN. Enter the Shared Secret.

4. In Proposal tab, IKE (Phase 1) Proposal has these settings: DH Group = Group 2, Encryption = 3DES, Authentication = SHA1, Life Time (seconds) = 28800. Ipsec (Phase 2) Proposal has these settings: Protocol = ESP, Encryption = 3DES, Authentication = SHA1, Life Time (seconds) = 28800.

5. In the Advanced, you may want to check Enable Windows Network (NetBIOS) Broadcast. The default Client authentication is Trust Users.

6. In Client, the default settings are Single Session, DHCP Lease and Split Tunnels.

7. Click OK to save the settings. You may want to continue to work on DHCP settings.
